Preserving Our Values
North Dakota’s Secretary of State is responsible for conducting elections, registering businesses and organizations, licensing notaries public, enforcement of lobbying laws and registration, acting as athletic commissioner, serving as ambassador for the citizens and so much more. That is why Corey is dedicated to working tirelessly every day to represent the outstanding citizens of North Dakota and ensuring that a high bar of ethics is maintained in our state government.
- Corey will enforce all laws related to campaign finance disclosure and lobbying fairly and unequivocally. He will ensure the will and voices of North Dakotans are heard in our capitol while preserving the integrity of our value-based state government.
- Corey believes firmly in serving the people, not political party or special interest. Therefore, Corey will be a Secretary of State that does not endorse political candidates or initiated measures. He will hold all political parites and candidates accountable for their actions per the letter of the law and will work with other state agencies to ensure laws and policies are carefully enforced.
- Corey will work with staff to create a new section of the state website dedicated to transparency and clarification of state laws related to elections, voting and lobbying.
Building Business Alliances
Small businesses in North Dakota have experienced periods of expansion and contraction. The
Secretary of State should not just be another form of bureaucracy, but serve as a business and
industry ally to foster economic growth for our state.
-
Corey will work with small businesses across the state and encourage collaboration
within an industry to address workforce needs and potential areas of expansion.
-
As Secretary of State, Corey will attend Interim Workforce Committee meetings to
provide information for legislators and search for new public-private partnerships that
address labor shortages in our communities.
-
As interest in industries grow, Corey will work with other agencies to conduct a
workforce summit with small business owners that identifies ways in which the Secretary
of State and other government offices can improve its efficiency and positive economic
development.
Protecting the Public by Keeping Contractors Honest
Disasters are an unwelcomed part of our lives. While not all can be prevented, planning can
minimize the long-term toll they have on our communities.
Occasionally, tornadoes ravish towns and floods wipe away homes and infrastructure.
Businesses often emerge from other states to assist in the recovery, but undergo little-to-no investigation when registering with the state.
As Secretary of State, Corey will conduct background checks on contractors and new businesses that register for operation in North Dakota in response to disaster relief. Corey will fight to ensure families are living in homes built by licensed and insured contractors that live up to the highest of standards.
Thank you for visiting the official website of Corey Mock for Secretary of State. I look forward to
traveling across our great state to listen to North Dakotans and earn their support.
My campaign is simple: it’s all about you.
