As a state representative for North Dakota's 42nd district, Corey has become recognized as an advocate for fair and efficient government.
Corey became known in the 2009 legislative session with his fight to create an independent redistricting commission. He worked with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to reduce transportation costs for state travel, restore financial aid increases for North Dakota college students, preserve the integrity of our election process and implement tax cuts that benefited all residents of our state.
Corey is known amongst his friends and colleagues as a voice of reason, innovation, and efficiency - a recognition that was noted first when elected to the House of Representatives in 2008.
Corey serves on the education and political subdivision committees of the legislative assembly. Here he works with local leaders to address issues that are important to the state and our individual communities. As one county commissioner explained, "Corey is the type of leader our state needs to ensure our communities get the results they deserve." |
As a graduate of the University of North Dakota with a degree in history and emphasis in geography, Corey has an appreciation of our state's heritage and tradition.
Corey was born and raised in Minot, North Dakota, where his parents, Troy and Carlene Huber, still live today. His family owned and operated Minot Lumber and Hardware until 2009.
Other than his work as a state legislator, Corey also serves as the Executive Director of Third Street Clinic, a non-profit free clinic that provides access to health care services for low-income residents of Grand Forks and Polk counties. He lives in north Grand Forks and is a member of North Dakota Farmers Union, Rotary International, GF/EGF Chamber of Commerce, Young Professionals, Sons of Norway and is a volunteer at the Circle of Friends Humane Society. Corey also serves on the Board of Directors of North Dakota Leadership Seminar and has been a staff member of American Legion Boys State since 2003. |
